Dedryck Boyata is reportedly on the radar of Lazio, and one suspects that the Italian club were impressed with the performance of the Celtic defender when he lined up alongside Tottenham Hotspur duo Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld for Belgium at the World Cup.
Injury to Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany saw Celtic centre-back Boyata start in Belgium’s opening Group G fixture against Panama on Monday afternoon.
The 27-year-old defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Roberto Martinez’s side won 3-0.

According to Radiosei, Italian club Lazio are interested in signing Boyata in the summer transfer window and are keeping tabs on him at the World Cup.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has explained why the Hoops should not sell the Belgium international in the summer transfer window.
Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “In contrast Dedryck Boyata is in the same boat with his contract but unlike Armstrong they simply cannot afford to sell him.
“That might surprise a few people as the centre-half has not always been the most dependable. But, bottom line, Celtic will need him.
“The Champions League qualifiers are only a few weeks away and if they were to let Boyata go they would be losing an experience defender from a backline that already looks weak going in to Europe.”

Boyata is prone to making mistakes, but the Belgian defender is an important figure in the Celtic defence.
With the Hoops involved in Champions League qualifiers later this summer, the Glasgow giants need their best players, and one of them is Boyata.
