Aston Villa are on the hunt for a new striker this summer, and Daniel Sturridge has just been released by Liverpool.

Chris Sutton has told BBC Radio Five Live that Aston Villa should sign Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge.
Sturridge has just been released by Liverpool, meaning he is free to search for a new club.
And Sutton feels that a move to Villa Park could be perfect for the England international striker, who needs to revive his career.
Sutton said: “He just needs to play. When he burst on the scene you think about how talented he was, I think his career has been a disappointment in terms of what he could have achieved.
“I think he best thing for him is to find a club and knuckle down – maybe a Villa – and play games and get a smile back on his face.”
Villa are on the look out for a new number nine this summer, but whether Sturridge is on their radar remains to be seen.

Villa have been key to target young players since Dean Smith has come in, as he wants to reduce the average age of the squad at Villa Park.
Sturridge has not played regular football for a number of seasons now, as he slipped down the pecking order at Liverpool.
If Villa did move for Sturridge he would likely have to take a pay cut, as he was on big wages at Anfield.
