Celtic suffered a heavy defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League this week.

Chris Sutton has suggested in The Daily Record that Derby County would struggle against Barcelona at Camp Nou.
Celtic suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat at the hands of Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League Group C on Tuesday evening.
The Scottish Premiership champions were not expected to even draw against Barca in Spain, but the way Brendan Rodgers’s side collapsed and the big margin of the defeat have raised questions.

Former Celtic striker Sutton believes that Championship club Derby would struggle against Barcelona at Camp Nou.
“Did we not think there would be a gulf between Celtic and Barcelona?” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record.
“Derby County are near the bottom of the English Championship and will have a similar budget to Celtic. Would we expect Derby to put on a show at the Nou Camp?”

Sutton is absolutely right in suggesting that Derby would struggle against Barcelona.
Luis Enrique’s side are used to hammering teams by big margins, and Celtic suffered what many teams in La Liga quite regularly do.
There is a massive gulf in class between Barca and the Bhoys, and it is going to remain so for a while.
Celtic will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle away from home at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops are at the top of the league table at the moment with 12 points from four matches.
