Everton lost yet again on Sunday afternoon, falling to a 5-2 defeat against Arsenal.
Pundit Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to suggest that Everton manager Ronald Koeman must be sacked after Sunday’s 5-2 home defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Everton took the lead through a superb Wayne Rooney strike, but that’s as good as it got for the Toffees, as Nacho Monreal equalised before the second half floodgates opened for Arsenal.
Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey all scored to put Arsenal 4-1 up, and whilst Oumar Niasse pulled a late goal back for Everton, Alexis Sanchez went straight back up the other end to make it 5-2.
Boos rang out at full time at Goodison Park, as manager Ronald Koeman has to cope with mounting speculation over his future as Everton boss.
The Dutchman enjoyed a promising first season with the Toffees last term, and when he was backed with a host of new signings over the summer, fans were optimistic of a big season.
Despite signing the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Gylfi Sigurdsson, as well as re-signing Wayne Rooney, Everton have endured a torrid start to the season, and losing to Arsenal gave them their fifth defeat in nine league games.
Everton now lie in the bottom three of the Premier League table, and manager Koeman is at risk of losing his job, with most fans feeling that he should be replaced after such a horrendous series of results.
After the game, pundit Chris Sutton took to Twitter to state that time has to be up for Koeman, suggesting that he needs to be replaced as soon as possible – but whether the Everton board do that or not remains to be seen.
