The former England striker has passed comment on Sheffield United’s season under manager Chris Wilder.

A tweet from Chris Sutton on Thursday will make pleasing reading for fans of Sheffield United.
The Blades are closing in on a return to the Championship after six years away, after Tuesday’s win against Millwall moved them 13 points clear of third place with six games left to play.
Chris Wilder’s side have proved no match for the rest of League One – an impressive feat given the summer arrival from Northampton Town is thought to be working on the lowest budget of any United manager since their 2011 relegation.
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that Wilder – a boyhood United fan and former player – had never before managed at a level higher than the fourth tier until this season.

And, in response to a tweet containing a link to an article on the Blades’ campaign, Sutton was full of praise for the Yorkshire side and their 49-year-old boss.
“A great club on the way back with a manager who deserved his chance at a big club earlier!,” wrote the former Celtic, Chelsea and England striker.
Promotion for United – who were founder members of the Premier League 25 years ago – will bring to an end their longest run of consecutive seasons outside of the top two tiers.
