Chris Sutton has told Stadium Astro that he can definitely see Willian ending up at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Brazil international is set to leave Chelsea on a free transfer.

Ironically, the Blues hijacked Tottenham’s move to sign him back in 2013, but he could wind up in North London yet.

The Mail reported last week that Spurs were ‘ready to strike’ after negotiations of a new deal at Stamford Bridge hit an impasse.

And Sutton can’t see him staying with Frank Lampard’s side – but ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if Tottenham swoop.

He said: “It looks like that ship [Willian staying at Chelsea] has sailed. It is a little bit of a surprise to me because his fitness levels seem very, very good.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at somewhere like Spurs if I’m totally honest.”

In this climate, Willian would suit Tottenham perfectly.

He’s free and although he’s on £138,000 per week in West London, the 31-year-old still represents cracking value for money – especially when Spurs boss Jose Mourinho and he already have a solid history of working relationship.

This could be really good for the Lilywhites, who won’t have millions to shell out this summer, so loans and Bosmans might be the order of the day.
