Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers drew 2-2 at Firhill on Friday night.
Chris Sutton has told BT Sport that Partick Thistle midfielder Ryan Edwards should’ve received a first-half red card for his “coward’s challenge” on Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack.
Jack was left writhing around in pain following an over-the-top challenge from the 23-year-old which went unpunished – and seemingly unseen – by referee Willie Collum.
It is no secret that Sutton isn’t a huge fan of Rangers, but the Celtic legend was firmly in favour of 25-year-old here, claiming he was the victim of a “ridiculous” tackle.
He told BT Sport: “It’s an easy red card, ridiculous. He goes over the top. It’s a coward’s challenge. It’s a stamp on to his leg.
“How does Willie Collum not see that? You don’t tackle like that in that situation.”
Rangers led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a very well-taken strike from in-form Alfredo Morelos, but two goals from Blair Spittal and Chris Erskine before the hour mark flipped the match on its head at Firhill.
On 67 minutes, the Ibrox side will have felt a sense of justice after Erskine received his marching orders, before Graham Dorrans levelled up with a cracker but the Gers could not find the breakthrough despite knocking on the door for most of the final quarter.
