Chris Sutton thinks Tottenham’s players may be having problems getting used to Vincent Janssen’s movement.
Pundit Chris Sutton has told BBC Sport’s Match of the Day 2 Extra that he thinks Tottenham’s players aren’t sure about Vincent Janssen’s movements just yet.
Spurs drew 1-1 away at North London rivals Arsenal last weekend, as Harry Kane’s penalty rescued a point after Kevin Wimmer had scored an own goal to put the Gunners in front.
It’s now seven without a win for Spurs, and just four goals scored in that time, three of which were penalties as Mauricio Pochettino’s men have struggled to score from open play in recent weeks.

The injury to star striker Kane – ankle ligament damage picked up against Sunderland in September – has been a major blow, especially as backup striker Vincent Janssen has yet to impress in front of goal.
The Dutchman, 22, was a key summer signing for Spurs given that he scored 31 goals in all competitions for AZ Alkmaar last season, but he’s made a slow start to life in English football.

Janssen has scored just three goals in all competitions this season, and they were all penalties, with the Netherlands international being compared to Roberto Soldado for his inability to score from open play for Spurs.
Janssen has been heavily criticised by many pundits this season, and Chris Sutton has now offered his view, telling BBC Sport’s Match of the Day 2 Extra that he thinks Janssen was ‘underperformed’ so far.

Sutton, a former Premier League striker with Norwich, Blackburn, Chelsea, Birmingham City and Aston Villa, added that the lack of service for Janssen may have something to do with Tottenham players not being sure about his movement just yet, whereas they’re used to playing with Kane leading the line.
“Janssen’s underperformed hasn’t he…he’s been the disappointment, so it’s obvious where the problem is,” said Sutton. “I just think that it’s the final touch. Harry Kane has been a massive miss, and you talk about Janssen not getting the service – the players maybe aren’t sure about his movements, whereas with Harry Kane, it’s a lot slicker,” he added.
