Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have made two signings so far this transfer window.
Chris Sutton has told Scottish Football Extra, which was broadcast on BT Sport on 28th January, that Glasgow Rangers could have made an approach for Celtic’s Ryan Christie.
Christie has been loaned out to Aberdeen by Celtic, and the attacking midfielder’s arrival at Pittodrie has helped strengthen the Dons’ squad.
Are more additions incoming? Brendan Rodgers provides Celtic transfer update
A section of Rangers fans have criticised the transfer, as it means that Celtic are now helping out one of their major rivals for second spot.

Aberdeen are currently two points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table, with a game in hand.
However, Sutton claims that any Rangers fans that are annoyed that Celtic have aided one of their competitors, should look at their club’s transfer dealings instead – as they could have made an approach for the youngster themselves.

“It’s an interesting one. Celtic are basically saying. we’ve won the league, so we’re doing Aberdeen a favour,” Sutton said. “Are some of the Rangers fans unhappy with that? Probably. But maybe they could have gone for Christie as well.”
Sutton’s comment is likely to have been made in jest, as Celtic surely wouldn’t have loaned out a player to the Ibrox side.

Christie does need game time, though, as he has found it difficult to break into Brendan Rodgers’ starting line-up this term.
The 21-year-old played just seven times for Celtic in all competitions before moving to Aberdeen.
Christie made his debut for the Dons on Friday evening, when he came off their substitutes’ bench to help his new side beat Dundee.
