Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic reportedly want John McGinn from Hibernian in the summer transfer window.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in signing McGinn from Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian this summer.
It has been reported that the Glasgow giants have made a bid of £1.5 million for the Scotland international midfielder.
Hibernian, though, are claimed to have turned down that offer, and former Celtic striker Sutton believes that the Glasgow giants will have to cough up as much as £5m in transfer fee.
Sutton has also stated that the 23-year-old former St. Mirren star would be the ideal replacement for Stuart Armstrong for the Hoops.
The Scotland international midfielder has joined Southampton from Celtic in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £7 million.
Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “Stuart Armstrong wasn’t deemed European class when Rodgers came in but he certainly was by the time he left. McGinn would be the ideal replacement in the engine room.
“I don’t blame Celtic for going in low at first but I’d expect them to ramp up the bids – significantly.
“It has been suggested Hibs are looking for £4million and Celtic fans see that as a bit steep for a guy with 12 months left in his contract.
“But you can’t flog Armstrong for £7m and then low ball the Easter Road club. If anything I think they’ll need to go to £5m for McGinn – but he’d be worth it.”

Raising the bid
Celtic were never going to sign McGinn for just £1.5m, and if the Glasgow giants are serious about signing the 23-year-old, then they have to increase their offer.
The Hoops should be confident of signing McGinn for around £4m or £5m, and he would be a brilliant addition to Brendan Rodgers’s team.
