Few can see Marcelo Bielsa leaving Leeds United for Tottenham Hotspur – but Chris Sutton seems to think it may happen.

Bielsa is almost a God-like figure at Elland Road, and who can blame Leeds fans for placing him on that kind of pedestal?

Bielsa has brought sensational football to Elland Road, taken them back to the Premier League and is now on the verge of a to-half finish in the Premier League.

The Argentinian has completely changed the fortunes of Leeds, and he will forever have hero status with the Whites.

The problem for Leeds is that Bielsa’s contract expires this summer and he has yet to commit his future to the club for next season and beyond.

There is one major vacancy in the Premier League right now as Tottenham Hotspur want a new manager to replace Jose Mourinho.

It seems unlikely that Bielsa would leave for Tottenham, but pundit Chris Sutton seems to think it may be a possibility this summer.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Sutton suggested that Bielsa’s head might have been turned the Tottenham job becoming available.

When tasked with revealing his source on such a claim, Sutton refused to share, instead noting repeatedly that Bielsa’s refusal to sign a new deal may be because he wants to move on.

So what should Leeds fans think of this?

Sutton’s claims don’t appear to have much substance right now, so we’d recommend confidence that Bielsa is staying put at Elland Road.

Tottenham fans would surely love to have Bielsa – quite the change from Mourinho – but they shouldn’t be getting excited.
