Chris Sutton selects three Celtic players who haven’t done much this season.
Chris Sutton has written in The Record that Scott Sinclair, Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham have had poor seasons for Celtic in his view.
Celtic smashed Aberdeen 3-0 at Pittodrie this afternoon to clinch an eighth successive Premiership title.
It’s a success made all the more impressive by virtue of the fact that quite a few major Hoops stars haven’t replicated their own heroics of recent years.
Ntcham, linked with a £13 million move to Porto last summer, hasn’t kicked on following a superb first year in Glasgow, and struggles to get a game under Neil Lennon since Brendan Rodgers quit the club in February.
Rogic hasn’t looked the same player since returning from the Asia Cup in January, while Sinclair hasn’t found the net under Lennon as of yet and has also found regular games hard to come by since Rodgers left.
The English winger had 12 goals in 14 games before Rodgers quit for Leicester City, and Sutton reckons that he is suffering from a crisis of confidence.
He wrote in The Record: “Olivier Ntcham has been poor. He has so much potential and has gone backwards this season.
“I’m a huge fan of Tom Rogic yet he has looked miles off it this season bar one good spell before Christmas. He’s had injuries but needs to get his fitness levels to an acceptable level while Scott Sinclair is a shadow of the player he was.
“He’s lost his confidence, has become hesitant on the ball. Sinclair’s numbers look good but his displays have been sub-standard.”
