Everton were beaten 5-1 in Europa League action last night by Atalanta.

Schneiderlin was on the substitutes’ bench for Everton last night, as they were beaten 5-1 by Atalanta in front of their own supporters.
And, even though the French midfielder didn’t feature last night, he still did not manage to avoid criticism.

“I have to say I don’t think it’s a bad thing Schneiderlin not playing. He’s been a liability this season,” Sutton said.
Unfortunately for Everton, even in Schneiderlin’s absence, they were powerless to resist as Atalanta tore them apart.
The Italian side smashed in five goals at Goodison Park, and even though Sandro netted a consolation, there were very little positives for David Unsworth’s side to take.

Everton have endured a miserable campaign to date, with the Merseyside outfit struggling in both the Premier League and in Europe.
The Toffees are currently bottom of their Europa League group, and sit in 16th place in the Premier League table.
Everton are next in action at the weekend, when they travel to fellow strugglers Southampton.
