Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was booked as the Gers picked up an emphatic win at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard’s men have booked their place in the last four of the competition with an impressive win against Ayr at Ibrox. Nikola Katic broke the deadlock, while Morelos scored Rangers’ third in between a Glenn Middleton brace.
But it was not an entirely positive night for the Gers. Morelos was booked for dissent after reacting badly to a late challenge. And upon hearing that Morelos will miss the semi-final due to his latest yellow card, Sutton was incredibly critical of the Colombian.
“We’ve had one idiot here tonight with Boyata and another one at Ibrox,” he told BT Sport.

“What is he thinking of? He’s got a history of it. What an idiot. Steven Gerrard has a lot of faith in Morelos. How many times is he going to let Steven Gerrard down? It’s not good enough and I wonder what Steven Gerrard is actually thinking about him. Is he a liability?”
In fairness to Morelos, he is still young and providing goals. He has scored eight times in 16 appearances in all competitions, so he is still contributing and will continue to learn as he gets older.

But it cannot be ignored that he has five yellows and two reds to his name this season. It is an alarming return, and it may be something that Gerrard feels that he needs to address.
Rangers return to action on Sunday when they travel to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership. Should Hearts lose the previous day, the Gers could move to within two points of top spot.
