Chris Sutton has slammed Rangers chairman Dave King after the Gers supremo reiterated that he would not change Celtic’s ticket allocation for December 29’s Old Firm clash, as quoted by the Record.

Rangers have given Celtic just 800 tickets for the second Old Firm derby of the season, which saw Celtic respond in exactly the same manner when Rangers visited Parkhead back in September – resulting in a 1-0 defeat for the Gers.

King was quoted by the Daily Record as saying: “I can give you absolute certainty that this board has no intention of reversing this decision,” completely ignoring Celtic chief Peter Lawwell’s criticism.”

Celtic icon Sutton joined in in that criticism, blasting King by stating that “football is nothing without fans” and the game is “worse off” because of King’s decision.

The Scottish Premiership is the tightest it has been since Rangers were promoted back to the top tier, with the Gers sitting two points behind their Old Firm rivals after beating Livingston 3-0 on the weekend.

Both sides are in action on Thursday evening in the Europa League, with Celtic travelling to Norway to take on Rosenborg while Rangers play host to Spanish side Villarreal in crucial clashes for both sides.
