Chris Sutton was angered by Brendan Rodgers suggesting that he would love to return to Celtic in the future.
Chris Sutton took to Twitter to react to comments made by Brendan Rodgers in which he suggested to Premier Sports that he would love to return to Celtic in the future.
Rodgers seemed to throw away his chance of going on to secure legendary status at Parkhead by leaving the club during the season to join Leicester City. At the time, there was a lot of anger directed at the Northern Irishman for the timing of his exit.
It overshadowed the work that he did during his time with the Bhoys as Neil Lennon came in to lead the club to their third domestic Treble in a row, with the final piece of the puzzle coming in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final win against Hearts.
Ahead of the final, Premier Sports posted a clip from an interview with Rodgers where he briefly discussed his time with Celtic and suggested that he would jump at the chance to head back for a second spell at some stage in the future.
But it appears unlikely that Rodgers will get that chance if Sutton has anything to do with it. The BT Sport pundit and former Celtic striker slammed Rodgers for being arrogant and patronising in his comments.
He also suggested that he would rather have Lennon in charge given that there can be no question regarding how much the Hoops mean to the 47-year-old who now looks set to secure the job on a permanent basis.
