Former Villa striker Sutton has directed all of his fury at McCormack.
Former Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton has launched a scathing attack on Ross McCormack while speaking for BBC Radio 5 Live.
McCormack has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa after scoring just three goals for the club since his £12 million summer move from Fulham.
The 30-year-old was left out of Steve Bruce’s squad for the draw with Preston North End on Saturday after failing to turn up for training.
A report from the Mirror claimed that Bruce turned up at McCormack’s house after the striker claimed a faulty gate prevented him from showing up.

Bruce held nothing back when relaying his thoughts on the situation, and ex-Villa striker Sutton has now weighed in, calling McCormack’s attitude “disgraceful”.
Sutton told 5 Live: “I mean, how thick can you get? Just say you’re ill. Was he sitting there panicking thinking “How can I get in? What can I say?… The gate won’t work.” That is just incredible.
“I think Steve Bruce wants to get rid of him but he won’t because of his wages. Ross McCormack actually has been a talented player, but this probably sums up why he hasn’t fulfilled his potential. He did very well at Fulham, virtually kept them up, him and [Moussa] Dembele, last season.

“But if you’ve got an attitude like that, you’re not going to go to the top. I mean, it’s disgraceful. I feel sorry for Steve Bruce and Aston Villa, and Ross McCormack has just got to sort himself out.”
Sutton may have a point in claiming that Bruce will be keen to get rid of McCormack this month, but the same can be said for his suggestion that Villa could struggle to offload the highly-paid misfiring star.
