Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is attracting interest, but Chris Sutton warns against selling him too early.

Chris Sutton has told The Daily Mail that Celtic should hang on to Kieran Tierney a little while longer, after mentioning his prediction about Virgil van Dijk.
The 20-year-old left-back is among the hottest prospects in European football following a superb last 18 months for the Scottish champions.
The Mail reported last month that the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool might be interested in bringing him South of the border this summer.

Sold for £13.5 million two years ago, centre-back Virgil van Dijk was the last high-profile Celtic player to make it in English football, with the 25-year-old now worth a reported £60 million.
As a result, Sutton, who claims to have predicted the Dutchman’s rise to prominence, says that the Hoops should not consider selling Tierney until his value skyrockets in the same manner as Van Dijk’s.
“Without a doubt, Tierney is better than a lot of the full backs in the Premier League. But is he better off staying put at the Scottish champions?,” he wrote in The Mail.

“Brendan Rodgers said Celtic aren’t a selling club any more but Tierney is the one — out of everyone — who will see them tested this summer.
“There is a misguided view of Scottish football. Two years ago, I said Virgil van Dijk — then at Celtic — was as good as John Stones. Now he is rated at £60million! So Celtic should hold out for big money for Tierney.”
According to The Mail, Tierney, at the moment, is only valued at around £17 million, a figure which should, in theory, increase if he maintains his high standard next season.
