Chris Sutton has questioned Scott Bain for the only goal Celtic conceded this evening.

Neil Lennon’s side kicked off their 10-in-a-row bid with a 5-1 demolition of Hamilton at Parkhead today.

Despite winning by four clear goals, Celtic weren’t as comfortable as they probably should’ve been at the break.

Scott Martin halved the deficit on 34 minutes to make it 2-1, with his effort from outside the box taking a big deflection off Christopher Jullien and wrong-footing the Hoops goalkeeper, who couldn’t get a firm enough hand on it to preserve the clean sheet.

Here’s what Sutton wrote on Twitter.

But Bain had a lot of defenders – including from Trevor Sinclair – as some fans claimed that Sutton was being a bit overly harsh in criticising the Scottish keeper for that.

Today was a big chance for Bain to show what he can do, after Lennon signed Vasilis Barkas – who was named on the bench against Accies – and it’ll be interesting to see if the Celtic boss feels he did enough to stay in the first XI for next week’s trip to Kilmarnock.
