Chris Sutton has mocked Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on Twitter after the Gers won the Veolia Trophy.

Rangers won 2-0 against Lyon and against Nice, and were the only team to win both of their matches in the tournament.

James Tavernier picked up the trophy at the end of the tournament on Sunday evening.

Former Celtic striker Sutton has mocked Rangers on Twitter, and has suggested that the Ibrox outfit can put the trophy next to the Petrofac Training Cup they won back in 2016.

Harsh

It is a bit harsh of Sutton to mock Rangers on Twitter for winning the Veolia Trophy.

True, it was a friendly tournament, but it is a very good and important morale-booster.

Title challenge

Rangers will be aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.

The Gers has struggled in the second half of each of the last two seasons, but perhaps during the 2020-21 campaign, they will find that consistency to get them over the line.
