Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers crashed out of the Europa League qualifiers earlier this month.
Caixinha was appointed the Rangers manager in March 2017 following the departure of Mark Warburton, who is now in charge of Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
Rangers ended up only third in the Scottish Premiership last season, and the Ibrox faithful will expect the Gers to at least challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the league title during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Ibrox outfit, though, are not having the best of times at the moment. Earlier this month, Rangers were knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha
The Rangers fans would have expected Pedro Caixinha’s side to get the better of Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League first qualifying round.
Rangers won the first leg 1-0 at Ibrox last month, but they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the second leg away from home earlier this month.
While many will question whether Caixinha is the right man to take Rangers forward, former Celtic striker Sutton has suggested that the Gers should not sack him.
“I don’t believe they would be thinking about making a change with the manager so early,” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record. “It was so bad a result I see people have questioned whether Caixinha should still be in a job.
“But he’s brought in all these signings so that it would be an incredible decision to sack him after backing him in the way they have.”
