Oliver Burke has been playing as a striker for Celtic lately.

Chris Sutton has revealed to The Scottish Sun that he ‘knows for a fact’ Oliver Burke is not a natural striker.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers brought the West Brom winger to Parkhead on a half-season loan earlier this month [Goal.com].

But Burke, a £15 million signing by the Baggies [Express and Star], has been playing up front for the Hoops so far.

Despite the shift in position, the 21-year-old has already scored twice from a number nine role after grabbing a brace on his Premiership debut in midweek.

But Sutton, the legendary Celtic hitman, claims that the young Scot is not naturally a striker and suggests that Rodgers will move him back on the wing when the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo are available.

He told The Scottish Sun: “I think he’s hungry, he looks powerful and I know he’s scored a couple of goals, but i know for a fact that position isn’t natural to him.

“At the moment Celtic are bare in that position and Brendan has chucked him in there, which has its risks as there’s a player coming up who wants to prove himself again.

“But he is playing in a position that’s alien to him, so it’s good for him to get some goals.”

Timothy Weah, who also scored on his Celtic debut this month, spearheaded the Bhoys’ attack in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Hamilton at Parkhead, but was replaced by Burke after 63 minutes.
