Can Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic win the Europa League this season?

Celtic are playing in the Champions League this season, but Brendan Rodgers’s side have lost the chance of progressing to the last-16 stage of Europe’s premier club competition.
The Hoops, though, can still finish third in their group and drop down to the Europa League.
Celtic’s performance against Bayern Munich at Celtic Park in the Champions League suggests that they can match strong teams in Europa League.

Bayern winger Arjen Robben recently suggested to The Daily Record that the Hoops can go all the way to the final of the competition the season.
Former Celtic striker Sutton, though, does not believe that the Glasgow giants will win the Europa League this season.
Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “But do I agree with Arjen Robben’s suggestion they could go all the way in the Europa League? No.
“Celtic are progressing but I don’t thing they are at that stage yet. There are some very big teams in that competition and I don’t think Celtic are strong enough defensively yet.”

Celtic have a very good team, but the problem is that there are better sides in the Europa League.
While the Hoops should be confident of progressing in the knockout rounds of the European competition, it is hard to see them go as far as the semi-finals or the final this season.
Robben has been on the books of Bayern since the summer of 2009 when he joined from Real Madrid for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £22 million.
