Glasgow Celtic managed to get a 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach in Champions League action yesterday.
Chris Sutton has suggested that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers should have included Jozo Simunovic in his Champions League squad.
Simunovic was not included in Celtic’s match day squad which faced Borussia Monchengladbach yesterday, as Rodgers was worried about the centre-back’s fitness.
Simunovic has struggled to stay off the treatment table since moving to Celtic Park, and there were fears that he would pick up another injury if he played twice in the same week.
However, Sutton feels that Celtic should have risked the 22-year-old and rested him at the weekend, when they take on Inverness in the Scottish Premiership.
In Simunovic’s absence, Celtic managed to pick up a point against their Bundesliga opponents.
The Bhoys fell behind in the contest, but they managed to grab a draw thanks to a penalty from Moussa Dembele.
Celtic will now need to beat either Barcelona or Manchester City, if they are to have a chance of claiming third spot in the group and qualifying for the Europa League.
