Chris Sutton has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur transferntarget, Christian Eriksen, is getting ‘better and better’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
The former striker added that Brentford are going to do well to get the 30-year-old signed up in the summer because he is still a ‘top-quality’ player.
That was proven over the weekend when Eriksen scored for Thomas Frank’s side during their shocking 4-1 win at Chelsea – something Spurs fans would have loved because it’s not the first time their former Dane has scored at Stamford Bridge.
But, ahead of the summer transfer window, it seems as though those in north London want to re-sign the quick-thinking playmaker, as reported by the Daily Mail.
With Eriksen’s form returning, as well as his fitness levels, Sutton questioned whether he will still be playing for Brentford next season.
“I think we are doing Christian Eriksen down a little bit,” said Sutton. “I think Chelsea and everybody who he has played against in the Premier League, will be paying close attention to him.
“He’s getting better and better now. When he first came back, he looked very, very leggy.
“But now he is getting his fitness levels up, there is a strong argument to say that Brentford are going to do well for him to sign for next season because he’s looking like a top-quality all-round player, which he is.”

It needs to be remembered before Euro 2020, Eriksen was winning the Serie A title in Inter Milan colours, with a certain Antonio Conte in the dugout.
When Eriksen returned from his health scare at Euro 2020, it was a case of him getting his fitness back and finding his touch after so many months on the sidelines.
Brentford provided him with that chance in January and he is now repaying them by helping them survive in England’s top flight.
Given Eriksen’s obvious affiliation with Spurs and Conte, it’s pretty obvious that would be the perfect fit and return for the player.
And, in truth, whilst Harry Kane drops deep and acts like the world’s best playmaker, the club have missed that out-and-out number ten, well, since Eriksen himself departed.
