Chris Sutton has selected five Celtic players for his BT Team of the Week, and explained why he omitted some Rangers players.

Celtic thrashed Kilmarnock 6-1 on Saturday in another free-scoring display from Brendan Rodgers’s side, who sit four points clear of second-placed Aberdeen despite playing one match less.

Moussa Dembele netted two first-half goals for the Bhoys, before James Forrest, Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair and Tom Rogic added second-half goals.

As a result, Celtic legend Sutton included three of those names in his Team of the Week, but also added left-back Kieran Tierney and midfielder Scott Brown.

Rangers, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 defeat at Aberdeen on Sunday when James Maddison netted an injury-time free kick to deny Mark Warburton’s side.

The Gers probably deserved a point at the bare minimum, given how they were the better side for much of the clash at Pittodrie, while the free kick which led to the winning goal was a very harsh decision against James Tavernier.

With Rangers being arguably the better side, it would not have been ridiculous if Sutton were to have included one or two of Warburton’s side, but the 43-year-old defended his selections.
