Norwich City midfielder James Maddison has made an impressive start in Scotland, leading to suggestions that Celtic should buy him.

Chris Sutton suggests that it is too early to say whether Celtic should be trying to sign Norwich City’s James Maddison, but he is excited by the attacking midfielder’s talent.

Maddison has made a huge impact in Scotland, since signing on loan from Norwich at Aberdeen.

The youngster has been one of Aberdeen’s key players, and he helped Derek McInnes side beat Glasgow Rangers yesterday.

Maddison curled in a sensational free-kick in the last minute, to ensure that the Dons beat Rangers.

And Sutton responded, when asked whether Celtic should be looking to sign Maddison on a permanent deal on social media Twitter,: by saying: “Have to say it’s early days but what a free kick and what an impact he’s made at Aberdeen. Keep an eye out for him.”

Maddison made his name playing for Coventry City in League One, and there are high hopes for him at Norwich.

It means Celtic may not be able to sign Maddison, even if they were interested – especially with Norwich pushing for promotion to the Premier League.

Maddison has only made one senior appearance for Norwich so far, after signing from Coventry last January.
