Celtic have announced yet another surprise signing.

Earlier this week, the Hoops revealed a shock deal to sign Stoke City’s Mortiz Bauer on loan and Neil Lennon followed that up by bringing Mohamed Elyounoussi to Parkhead last night.

There was virtually no speculation about Celtic signing either player before the official announcement.

The transfer window closes on Monday and former Bhoys hitman Sutton claims that Lennon – who has signed six senior players this summer – still needs more additions before then.

Like Bauer, Elyounoussi, a £16 million signing by Southampton last summer [BBC Sport], is only on loan.

But the Norway international should add to Lennon’s attacking options, given that the 25-year-old can play on either wing as well as number 10.

He is certainly an exciting addition, by virtue of his versatility, but time will tell whether Sunday’s trip to Rangers in a top-of-the-table Premiership clash comes too soon.
