Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Steve Bruce winning the Manager of the Month award for Newcastle United.
As announced on Newcastle’s official website today, Bruce has been named as the Premier League Manager of the Month for April.
The Magpies picked up eight points from their four matches last month.
Newcastle finally achieved safety this month, but it was the result and performance of April that laid the foundations.
Newcastle drew with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool and got the better of Burnley and West Ham United in the league last month.
Leeds United head coach Marcelo Biesa, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and West Bromwich Albion boss Sam Allardyce were also in the running.
Former Norwich City striker Sutton, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, has praised Bruce on Twitter for winning the award.
Newcastle are back in action this evening when they take on Manchester City at St. James’ Park.
City have already won the league title this season, but manager Pep Guardiola will be keen on their momentum going, as they have a Champions League final against Chelsea later this month.
