Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers going the entire league season unbeaten, saying that the ‘Real Invincibles’ were Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in 2016-17.
Rangers have just beaten Aberdeen at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
It was the Gers’ last league game of the season, and they have now gone the entire campaign without suffering a single defeat.
Former Celtic striker Sutton has praised Rangers, but the BBC Sport and BT Sports pundit has take a swipe at the Gers by saying that their achievement is not as great as that of the Hoops back in the 2016-17 season.
During that campaign, Celtic – then under the management of Rodgers, now in charge of Leicester City – won the Scottish Premiership title, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup without suffering a single defeat.

Although Rangers had won the league title this season back in March, they could not win the Scottish Cup or the Scottish League Cup.
Celtic’s achievement that season was bigger, but that should not spoil Rangers’ title celebrations today.
