Glasgow Rangers legend Fernando Ricksen who spent six years at Ibrox died this morning.
Chris Sutton has reacted to the ‘sad and upsetting’ news that Rangers legend Fernando Ricksen has passed away.
Ricksen died at the age of 43 this morning following a battle with motor neurone disease.
The Dutch midfielder spent six successful years at Rangers and won seven major domestic honours with the Gers, including two Scottish Premiership titles.
Here’s how former Celtic striker Sutton, who faced Ricksen, reacted to the news.
Ricksen, who battled the condition since 2013, joined Rangers in 2000 after being signed by compatriot Dick Advocaat.
He played a big role in helping the Ibrox side to Premiership titles in 2003 and 2005. In 2003, the league crown was part of a treble under Alex McLeish.
Ricksen, who won 12 caps for the Netherlands, was in the Zenit St Petersburg squad that won the UEFA Cup in 2008, beating Rangers in the final.
