Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane had a day to forget against Crystal Palace on Saturday – and left Chris Sutton cursing his fantasy football decisions.

Tottenham made the short trip to South London on Saturday in search of another win.

Nuno Espirito Santo had started the season with three league wins in a row. Going for a fourth proved too much for Tottenham, who fell apart at Selhurst Park.

Japhet Tanganga’s red card really sent Tottenham spiralling. They had already been disappointing, but going down to 10 men was a killer.

Wilfried Zaha scored from the spot, and Odsonne Edouard then enjoyed a dream debut with two goals to seal a 3-0 win.

Kane, on the other hand, struggled for Tottenham.

The England striker failed to have a shot. He didn’t even have a touch inside the Palace box.

Tottenham had nothing going forward with Son Heung-min, and as a result, Kane had next to no service.

Kane’s blank left fantasy football managers cursing the Tottenham man – especially with other big hitters thriving.

Romelu Lukaku bagged a brace for Chelsea. Cristiano Ronaldo marked his return to Manchester United with two goals against Newcastle United.

Pundit Chris Sutton reacts

Sutton’s son Ollie – known as the ‘Taylor’ to Sutton’s ‘Clough’ thanks to a running joke on Fantasy 606 – suggested going for Kane over Ronaldo.

Sutton stated that he and his son would not be putting Ronaldo into their team. They weren’t falling into the trap, Sutton claimed.

With Tottenham losing, Sutton quoted his own tweet by stating ‘How do you delete…’ having quickly realised that the decision to go for Kane over Ronaldo had backfired badly.
