Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been tipped by a former player to reach the Europa League final.

Chris Sutton has appeared to doubt Sasa Papac’s claim that Rangers must reach the Europa League final this season.
Papac, who reached the final of the competition with Rangers in 2008, claimed to The Record that his former side could repeat that feat under Steven Gerrard.
The left-back said: “It is hard to say how they will go. In 2008, we didn’t know that we were going to make it to the final. We just played from game to game and grew up with every match.
“We weren’t the favourites in many of the games and just tried to do our best job in every match. This team must do the same and we will see how it goes.”
Here is how former Celtic striker Sutton reacted to the comments:
Rangers’ entire Europa League campaign has been about defying the odds so far.
The Gers, who were first-round casualties under Pedro Caixinha last season, won four preliminary ties en route to the group stages, and played half-an-hour of their last leg at FC Ufa with nine men to seal their passage.
Gerrard’s side then made a big statement on matchday one of Group G by holding Villarreal to a 2-2 draw in Spain.

They have been thriving on the underdog label since very early on, but reaching the final of the competition would be another achievement entirely.
Arsenal and Chelsea are in the competition, and the Premier League giants might well be joined by Tottenham in the very near future.
There are just too many formidable teams for Rangers to emulate the Class of ’08 and make it that far.
