Dedryck Boyata was the surprise goalscorer, with his first half goal enough to earn his side victory.

In the process the team equalled the record set by the famous Lisbon Lions side of 1966/67 by making it 26 domestic games unbeaten to start the season, and they can write their own history by avoiding defeat at home to Hearts this weekend.

The victory was hailed by former Celtic title winner Chris Sutton, who offered his congratulations on Twitter, while taking a shot at last year’s regime, stating this was an unimaginable feat.

Sutton was an outspoken critic of former boss Ronny Deila, and despite his hard hitting punditry, there is very little negative for him to say about Celtic these days.
