Chris Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:36pm, December 7, 2020) that it looks like Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are going to beat Neil Lennon’s Celtic to the league title.
The former Celtic striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, also gave his take on the Hoops deciding to keep Lennon as their manager.
The Bhoys have announced on their official website this evening that they are fully behind Lennon despite the team’s difficult season so far.
Sutton believes that not a single Celtic fan will agree with the board’s decision to keep their faith in Lennon.
The BBC pundit also believes that it looks like Rangers are going to stop their bitter Old Firm rivals from winning the league title for the 10th season in a row.
Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:36pm, December 7, 2020): “You wouldn’t find a Celtic supporter who would agree with that, and he is my friend, he is a former teammate, but he has had his time there.
“He cannot get a response out of the players, it has been embarrassing in Europe this season, the league looks like it’s over.”
Title race over?
Celtic are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 31 points from 14 matches, while Rangers are at the top of the standings with 44 points from 16 matches.
The Gers are in good form at the moment, but the Hoops do have a couple of games in hand, and it should also be noted that it is still only December and a lot of football is still to be played.
