Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter this afternoon to discuss the transfers of Jozo Simunovic and Cristian Gamboa.
As the transfer window heads towards its final 24 hours, Celtic have not only made a new signing, but a player also appears to be leaving the club.
With Brendan Rodgers searching for a new right back to compete with Mikael Lustig after Saidy Janko’s recent struggles, Celtic snapped up Cristian Gamboa on a three-year deal from West Bromwich Albion.

The Costa Rican international, 26, played just one Premier League game last season and clearly wasn’t favoured under Tony Pulis, leading to his move to Glasgow today.
Whilst Gamboa is coming in one, player who could be leaving is centre back Jozo Simunovic, who only joined the Bhoys from Dinamo Zagreb last summer as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

The Croatian defender, 22, had an injury-hit first season at Celtic Park, playing just 11 league games – and he now looks set for a shock move to Italy.
Sky Sports report that Simunovic is in Italy today to complete a move to Torino, as Sinisa Mihajlovic looks to strengthen his defence amid questions over the future of star centre back Nikola Maksimovic.

With one arrival and one imminent departure, former Celtic hero Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his view on the deals, suggesting that manager Rodgers must not rate Simunovic highly – but thinks Celtic fans haven’t really seen enough of him to judge.
Meanwhile, Sutton also thought Celtic would go for Hearts star Calum Paterson if they were looking for a right back, but hopes Gamboa can bring some defensive ability along with his pace.
