Celtic defeated Aberdeen 3-0 in the Betfred Cup final.

Celtic have picked up the first silverware of the Scottish football season, with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup final this afternoon.

The result never looked in doubt as Celtic dominated the game from start to finish.

Tom Rogic and James Forrest scored two great goals each on order to send them on their way to glory – before Moussa Dembele put away a penalty for 3-0.

The result was a fair one and it certainly pleased two former Celtic players.

Chris Sutton was happy to see Celtic pick up the win. The former Bhoys striker, who spent six years at the Glasgow club, congratulated the team on the win especially the goalscorers from open play for two goals he appreciated massively:

He was not alone.

Adam Virgo spent three years at Celtic, although the defender was never a big hit at Celtic Park. But he was very pleased to see them lifting some silverware:

Celtic will be hoping that this is not the last of their trophy winning this season. They will have their eyes on a treble.
