Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers progressed into the Europa League group stages against the odds in Russia.

Nine-man Rangers have qualified for the group stages of the Europa League by producing a herculean defensive effort away to FC Ufa this afternoon.
Ovie Ejaria opened the scoring with a fine finish on nine minutes to put Rangers 2-0 ahead on aggregate, leaving the Russian side needing at least three to progress.
But Alfredo Morelos picked up two yellow cards in quick succession on 37 minutes, five minutes after Dmitri Sysuev equalised for the hosts.
Midway through the second half, Rangers were reduced to nine men after Jon Flanagan picked up a second yellow card in what looked a soft decision, but despite the huge disadvantage, the Gers’ backline held firm and Steven Gerrard’s side move into the Europa League proper.
Here is how Chris Sutton reacted to the heroics on Twitter:
If there was any doubt before, Rangers are the real deal under Gerrard. This was too big of a test to pass if they weren’t a genuinely very good side.
Keeping the Russian side at bay for half-an-hour with nine men is a phenomenal achievement and one wonders what Celtic fans are making of it, ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm at Parkhead.
