Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers were in action at the weekend. While Celtic took on St. Mirren at Celtic Park in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon, Rangers locked horns with Hamilton Academical on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers got the better of Hamilton 6-0 with ease at Ibrox. Joe Garner was the star of the show for the Gers, as he scored a hat-trick. Martyn Waghorn, Jon Toral and Clint Hill also found the target for the Glasgow giants.

Celtic won big at the weekend as well. Brendan Rodgers’s side came from behind to stage a 4-1 victory over St. Mirren at Celtic Park.

The visiting team took the lead through Harry Davis after just 13 minutes, but goals from Mikael Lustig, Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths saw the Bhoys book their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Interestingly, Celtic and Rangers will face each other for a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton followed both the matches, and he shared his opinion on the two games on social networking site Twitter.
