Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton has criticised Everton majority investor Farhad Moshiri on social networking site Twitter.
Sutton is not impressed with Moshiri publicly explaining Everton’s decision regarding the failed move for Moussa Sissoko on transfer deadline day.
The Toffees were interested in signing the France international midfielder from Newcastle United, as reported by Sky Sports, but it was Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur who secured the services of the 27-year-old.

Moshiri subsequently explained to Sky Sports that the Toffees withdrew from the deal to protect midfielder James McCarthy’s place in the team.
Former Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers striker Sutton believes that the Everton majority investor should not have made any comments regarding the Sissoko situation.

Despite missing out on Sissoko to Tottenham, Everton’s business in the summer transfer window was quite good.
The Merseyside outfit signed Maarten Stekelenburg, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie among others.
Ronald Koeman’s side will take on Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League after the international break.
Everton could be pushing for a Champions League place as the season progresses.
