Celtic hammered Hearts 6-0 this afternoon, clinching the Scottish Premiership title in the process – and ex-striker Chris Sutton took to Twitter to offer his reaction.

The Bhoys went into the game at Tynecastle knowing that a win would hand them the title, with the champagne on ice over the weekend after Aberdeen’s 7-0 thrashing of Dundee on Friday evening made them wait.

With an unbeaten league record this season and just four points dropped over the course of the campaign, few would begrudge Celtic the title – and they clinched it in style today.

Scott Sinclair’s quickfire double handed Celtic a 2-0 lead as Hearts struggled to cope with the Bhoys, before Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts added goals to make it 4-0.

Winger Sinclair capped off a superb game and outstanding season by grabbing his hat-trick, handing Celtic the title at Tynecastle – their sixth in a row.

Pundits will be falling over themselves to praise manager Brendan Rodgers for his remarkable work this season, and Chris Sutton has offered his reaction on Twitter.

Sutton congratulated his former club for their title win, suggesting that they have enjoyed a brilliant campaign under Rodgers, who replaced Ronny Deila at the end of last season.

Sutton also took the opportunity to poke fun at Rangers, claiming that Rodgers didn’t need a ‘magic hat’ – a nod to the chant for former Gers boss Mark Warburton – and believes Celtic will coast to ten titles in a row unless Rangers chairman Dave King spends heavily.
