Celtic announced the Stoke City right-back’s arrival on a season-long loan deal on Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Sutton has put a Stoke City supporter back in his place over a tweet about the new Celtic signing, Moritz Bauer.
Celtic announced Bauer’s arrival on a season-long loan deal on Wednesday afternoon.
And responding to the Bhoys on Twitter, one Stoke fan proclaimed that the Austrian right-back will “p*** that s*** league”.
The Potters, though, sit bottom of the English second tier, prompting the former Celtic striker Sutton to reply: “A bit like Stoke are doing in the Championship…”
Bauer, who was also linked with a move to Celtic during last summer’s transfer window, is a popular figure among the Potters faithful.
But the 27-year-old has appeared on just 11 occasions since Stoke’s relegation to the Championship last summer – and not at all this season.

Bauer ends Celtic’s months-long search for a specialist right-back, after the Bhoys saw Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan depart at the end of last term.
Celtic have an option to buy the former Rubin Kazan player after his Parkhead spell.
