Pundit Chris Sutton is predicting more anti-Daniel Levy chants from Tottenham Hotspur fans against Manchester United.

Spurs host the Red Devils on Thursday night as they desperately seek some kind of response.

Tottenham were embarrassed with a 6-1 thrashing away at Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Not only did that hamper Tottenham’s lingering top four hopes, but it also proved to the end for interim boss Cristian Stellini.

Things must be bad for an interim boss to be sacked and Tottenham must now press ahead with their second caretaker manager.

Ryan Mason will take charge for Thursday’s big game against United, a game Spurs simply must win to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

That’s a big ask for a young coach like Mason, but most Spurs fans will be targeting any ire towards people higher up than the former midfielder.

Chris Sutton predicts anti-Daniel Levy chants

Tottenham fans have been chanting against chairman Daniel Levy in recent weeks, wanting him to leave the club.

Levy has been Spurs chairman for more than 20 years now and some believe it’s time for change at the top.

Spurs have moved backwards since reaching the 2019 Champions League final and a string of failed managerial appointments mean fans are angry.

Chants for Mauricio Pochettino are unlikely to ring around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this week given that the former Spurs boss is now heading to Chelsea.

That may mean chants focus on Levy though and pundit Chris Sutton believes the Spurs chairman is in for a difficult night.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sutton suggested that Tottenham will fall flat again and lose 3-1 to United.

Sutton also believes that anti-Levy songs will be filling the air in North London, predicting that the Tottenham fans will again turn on their chairman if Spurs taste defeat once more.

“Sorry, Tottenham, but your week is about to go from bad to worse,” said Sutton. “In the aftermath of losing 6-1 to Newcastle and sacking Cristian Stellini, United will inflict another defeat on you while anti-Daniel Levy songs fill the air.
