Chris Sutton has backed David Moyes’ West Ham United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to record a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

The former striker was also critical of Michail Antonio and how, despite a return in form for the 33-year-old, his season has been ‘a bit of a disappointment’ in West Ham United colours.

In back-to-back matches, against Gent in Europe and Bournemouth in the Premier League, Antonio has found the back of the net.

Despite that feel-good factor for the striker-turned-podcaster, over the course of the campaign, he only has 12 goals from 40 matches in all competitions.

But, if he can continue to turn it up during these crunch moments of the season, not only will it help West Ham to survive in the Premier League, plus it might also help deliver a trophy for the Hammers.

Nonetheless, even though Liverpool put six past Leeds United the last time they were on the road, Sutton thinks it will be a 2-2 draw, this time around, as he told BBC Sport.

“West Ham have had a great week with two four-goal wins, in the Europa Conference League and then at Bournemouth, but their improvement goes back further than that,” said Sutton.

“The Hammers have taken 10 points from their past four games and they are at the stage where another win will probably be enough to keep them up.

“I am not sure they will get it here, despite the improvement of Michail Antonio. This season, like a lot of West Ham players, he has been a bit of a disappointment, but things have really clicked for him of late.

“They will make life difficult for Liverpool and while I think Jurgen Klopp’s side will score goals, I still don’t trust the Reds defensively – Nottingham Forest caused them problems so West Ham will too.”

CAN WEST HAM SPOIL LIVERPOOL’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PARTY?

There is an outside chance that Liverpool secure Champions League football, but they will need to win their remaining matches, if that is to happen.

West Ham might just spoil that party because, three points for them, and that would put them on 37 points and, for many, that would mean survival.

Either way, given how the duo have defended this season, it would be a surprise if there aren’t a few goals in this.
