Pundit and former footballer Chris Sutton has told The Mail he predicts Liverpool will beat Arsenal and Tottenham to the top four spot.

Asked to select his top four, Sutton plumped for Premier League leaders Manchester City to go on and clinch the title, with United finishing second.

Sutton predicted: “1 Man City, 2 Man Utd, 3 Chelsea, 4 Liverpool.”

The pundit had further success forecast for Manchester City, believing they will go on and win the Champions League this season.

He said: “It will be hard for City to win the lot but the way they are playing, their rotation in the forward areas, they look formidable. Centre back is maybe their one weakness but I think they can win Europe’s elite competition.”

The Premier League’s top four are currently being challenged by surprise package Burnley at present, who sit sixth and host Tottenham Hotspur later today (Saturday).

Liverpool currently sit in fourth behind Chelsea, although there has been little to split between them and Arsenal this season, with both teams impressive from an attacking perspective but suspect defensively.

Tottenham have finished third and second in the past two seasons but have been in a slump over the past two months.

A solid run of form over the festive period could well see them into the top four heading into 2018, but they need to get a win against Burnley if they are to accomplish that.
