Glasgow Rangers chairman Dave King is hailed by Chris Sutton.
Rangers duo Steven Gerrard and Dave King
Chris Sutton has praised Rangers chairman Dave King in The Daily Record.
The former Celtic striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, has praised Rangers chairman King for backing his managers in the summer transfer window.
King backed Pedro Caixinha when the latter was in charge of Rangers, and the Gers chief has given current boss Gerrard the funds to bring in players both last summer and this.
Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “Whatever anyone says about Dave King, he keeps finding the money to back his manager.
“Gerrard has brought in 24 players over the past 13 months since he’s been in charge. That’s some haul. He’s been backed to the hilt and now it is payback time.”

Title race
Rangers did well to finish second in the Scottish Premiership table last season in what was Gerrard’s debut as the Gers’ manager.
Celtic will start this season as favourites for the championship title, but Ibrox fans will expect Rangers to push Neil Lennon’s side all the way.
The Gers have made some very good additions to their squad, bringing in the likes of Jordan Jones and Sheyi Ojo, and manager Gerrard will have to at least give the Bhoys a run for their money this campaign.
Rangers will take on Kilmarnock away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, while Celtic will face St. Johnstone at Celtic Park on Saturday.
