Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic won against Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Sutton has praised Celtic defender Cristian Gamboa on social networking site Twitter for his performance against Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon.
The former Celtic striker was impressed with the display produced by Gamboa for the Hoops against Thistle away from home at the Firhill Stadium in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.
The 28-year-old Costa Rica international right-back started the tie and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Hoops won 3-1.
Sutton was impressed with the performance of Gamboa, who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2016 when he joined from West Bromwich Albion for a transfer fee reported by Herald Scotland to be worth £1 million and earns £15,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star.
The praise from Sutton for Gamboa should also serve as a warning for Mikael Lustig, who is the first-choice right-back for Celtic.
The 31-year-old Sweden international will now have to fight for his place with Gamboa this season.

The former Celtic striker has also agreed with a Celtic fan regarding the importance of Moussa Dembele.
The 22-year-old striker is one of the best young players in Europe and was on target for Celtic against Thistle on Saturday afternoon.
