Chris Sutton has praised Celtic winger Michael Johnston in The Daily Record, but he does not think that the youngster should be considered as a striker for the Hoops.

While explaining in his column in The Daily Record the need for a striker at the Hoops, former Celtic striker Sutton has praised 20-year-old winger Johnston.

Sutton wrote about Johnston in The Daily Record: “Mikey Johnston has been superb in pre-season and this kid really looks as though he could develop into the real deal. But he’s not an out-and-out striker.”

Promising player

Johnston is one of the best and most promising young wingers in Scotland, and the Celtic player can only get better in the coming years.

The 20-year-old winger has pace and tricks, and if he is given an extended run in the team, then he will be a star for the team and will establish himself as an important player.

As stated on Celtic’s official website, Johnstone has made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops so far in his career, scoring five goals in the process.

Johnston is a winger by trade, and although he has been deployed as a striker from time to time, the Scotland Under-21 international should not be put under too much pressure to score goals.
