Chris Sutton has revealed the exact moment he thought Celtic were going to sack Neil Lennon.
The former Bhoys striker told BT Sport: ‘The time to sack Neil would’ve been after the Ross County game. I think we all expected Neil to go on that night, or in the following day or two’.
That probably would’ve been the best time to part ways with the former Bolton boss.
In our view, that Scottish League Cup defeat – a very winnable competition for the Scottish champions – summed up the lack of desire from the Celtic players right now.
It simply looks as if they don’t want to play for Lennon, nor do they seem like they want to keep him in a job right now.

The longer Peter Lawwell keeps the Hoops boss in charge, the more likely it is that Celtic’s season will completely fizzle out.
The only thing left to play for is the Scottish Cup final against Hearts on December 20th, while the ten-in-a-row can also be achieved if Celtic pull their finger out quickly.
The reigning Scottish champions are currently 11 points behind leaders – and arch-rivals – Rangers, although they do have two games in hand to make up the ground.

It is absolutely vital that Celtic win those games if they want to retain their title.
A new manager would’ve had some time to prepare for those games should he have come in after the Ross County defeat. Now, any new boss faces a rush to turn Celtic’s season around quickly.
