Rangers are still reeling from their loss to Progres Niederkorn and comparisons to Celtic’s defeat a year ago are wide of the mark.
Rangers suffered one of the most embarrassing defeats in their history last night as they were knocked out of Europe by Progres Niederkorn.
They had headed to Luxembourg 1-0 up from the first leg but went on to lose 2-0 in the second.
It was an utter humiliation for Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers, and one that they will take a while to forget about.
Under pressure… Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha
Talksport presenter Jim White made an attempt to compare the loss to Celtic’s loss in Gibralatar last season to Red Imps, an embarrassing 1-0 loss.
The difference was Celtic won the second leg 3-0 to ease past their opponents. Rangers do not have another bite of the cherry.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton did not make much of the comparison, quite rightly stating it was one which didn’t quite tally up.
Celtic also went on to put their defeat behind them by going on to record a record breaking unbeaten season in domestic football.
What chance to Rangers have of doing the same in response to their defeat?
